The SACM Dissertation Prize 2026 goes to Nicole Bizzotto for her thesis, defended at USI Università della Svizzera italiana, "Not All Those Who Navigate Are Lost: Self-Determined Patients Facing Mental Health Misinformation in Online Communities for Mental Health Symptoms". We thank the jury, chaired by Colette Schneider Stingelin, for their commitment.
The Saxer Award for the Best Presentation 2026 goes to Lilian Suter for her contribution "Of Schadenfreude, Humor, and Sympathy: Emotional Reactions to Fail Clips and Their Relation to Digital Empowerment". Endowed with CHF 500, the award recognises a member of the academic mid-level faculty for the clarity, quality and relevance of their presentation at the annual conference.
The SComS Best Paper Award 2025 goes to Guillaume Zumofen (University of Bern) for the article "Bringing content into the equation: Using a Wordscores method to compare the effect of newspaper and television on vote choice in referendums", published in issue 25/1.
